Journey for Knowledge
Journey for Knowledge is Weengushk Film Institute’s land-based immersion program. It is designed to support learning through direct relationship with land, language, culture, and community, with a focus on the physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions of Indigenous knowledge.
Guided by Elders and Knowledge Keepers, students engage with teachings rooted in land, food, ceremony, stewardship, language, and cultural practice. The program creates space for reflection, growth, and reconnection while supporting a deeper understanding of identity, responsibility, and the knowledge carried through community and place.
At WFI, Journey for Knowledge is an important part of a broader educational vision. It recognizes that storytelling, cultural continuity, and personal development are strengthened when learning is grounded in lived experience
and Indigenous ways of knowing.

This program is intended for students who are open to immersive, land-based learning and who want to deepen their understanding of Indigenous knowledge, identity, and cultural relationship.
