Community Language AI Lab

WFI is developing the Community Language AI Lab, an Indigenous-led language revitalization initiative designed to help communities record fluent speakers, protect language knowledge, build secure digital archives, and prepare community-specific AI-assisted learning tools. The model is designed to be community-controlled, locally grounded, and repeatable without flattening language into a generic system. The first proposed pilot is with Sheguiandah First Nation.
Set Ready: Production Crew Training Program

Set Ready is a planned workforce development initiative designed to prepare Indigenous and diverse participants for professional on-set crew roles. The model combines practical pre-production training with direct placement into a partnering film production, helping build a stronger entry-level crew pipeline and creating real pathways into the screen industry. WFI is currently seeking funding and production partnerships to launch the first cohort.
