This cutting edge program is for students with an artistic eye, a passion for technology, and a drive for a career in one of the fastest growing sectors of the Industry. The program will offer hands-on training from experienced industry professionals, using industry standard tools to prepare you for entry into the country's top animation studios. This program is for introductory animation learners using cartoon animation as a catalyst for planning fundamentals, character posing, body mechanics, acting, and studio preparation.

 

Completion of this exciting new program will provide you with: an understanding of the principles of animation, and the basics of a 3D pipeline; proficiency with leading animation software; the ability to integrate your 3D skills with the art of storytelling; and the chance to create an industry ready demo reel with the benefit of one-on-one feedback from your instructor.

Weengushk Film Institute is located just outside of M'Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island. The island is the largest freshwater lake island in the world, surrounded by Lake Huron, Georgian Bay and the North Channel. The natural beauty of the island and the cultural history, make WFI's location a prime spot for media production.

​Manitoulin Island is approximately two-hours southeast of Sudbury - a prime location for the film industry in Northern Ontario. With ties to the Northern Film Industry, WFI students have successfully transitioned into industry professionals.
