Language of Cinema

Stanley Kubrick gave this advice to aspiring filmmakers: “Get hold of a camera and some film and make a movie of any kind at all.” Kubrick knew that when you’re new at something you need to start creating. The most important thing is to begin. So get a camera, hit record, and start shooting.

Ideas are cheap and plentiful. The original pitch idea is such a small part of a business that it’s almost negligible. The real question is how well you execute.

This course has been dubbed “The Art of No Budget Filmmaking” because in this program we will teach the reality of the costs that are associated with media production, how filmmakers can focus the few resources they have and to remind them that things like story and performances are so much more important then what camera you shoot with.

Good films don’t have to be expensive and the more you know about the language of cinema, the better your films will be at no extra cost.

Instruction will be done by professional filmmaker’s who have completed films with this method and who understand how, not only to think outside the box but filmmakers who can go there as well.  These instructors will offer their first–hand knowledge of production, post production, marketing and distribution at every turn.
