Joanne Pak studied film at Ryerson and the Canadian film Centre. Her short film Beacons in the Night was well-received at the Montreal World Film Festival ('98) and Sprockets: Toronto International Film Festival for Kids ('00). After working professionally as a Production Manager, Studio Manager and Director's Assistant, she recently focused her attention to screenwriting and story editing. She currently has 4 projects in development including her feature Almighty Creator, supported by Telefilm's Development Incubator ('04), and her original TV series Transit, funded by Telefilm Spark Plug ('05). Her feature The Good Life was a semifinalist in both the AMPAS Nicholl ('03) and Austin ('03) screenwriting competitions. Joanne is currently employed as an editor by Canwest, where she also served as Union VP ('06-'08), addressing the concerns and rights of coworkers in Post Production and Closed Captioning.  She is represented by Aurora Artists.
